Weekend on the Porch

Well, it's Memorial Day Weekend and people around here are getting ready for celebration and remembrance, at home, at the lakes, rivers and parks. We will be at home. It's our favorite place. We will have some relatives coming on Sunday, but tomorrow it will be quiet here. And, that's fine with me.

This time of year, we enjoy sitting on the front porch with a beverage and watch the birds, the cars going by....waving at everyone. Now, we don't spend hours doing it...just a while and it's relaxing. When you have a big front porch...it's nice to spend time there enjoying the weather, family and friends.

So, here's our front porch....up close and personal. It's not fancy, but it is long. You can sit or you can swing. When it's hot, as it has been the last few days, there are ceiling fans to add a little breeze. We've got our flags out.....Richard likes to add his Navy flag...so we are ready for the holiday weekend. If you were here...we could sit out there and have a glass of sweet tea and talk and laugh...wouldn't that be fun? Please be safe and have a lovely Memorial Day!!! take care, pat

What a perfectly WONDERFUL porch! I'd love to swing with a big glass of iced tea (unsweetend please...I know, not a southerner, lol).

Enjoy your porch time :)

Blessings!

Hello from Michigan. I think your front porch is truly lovely. Have a very Happy Memorial Day Holiday with your family and friends. Loved looking at all your flowers. They are gorgeous. I am a gardening too and have a great appreciation of all of nature. How neat that you had a bird nest on your front porch. we had a Blue Jay Nest in our Burning Bushes but just before the eggs were to hatch the neighbor cat got them. very sad face. Your art is very beautiful. Hugs Judy

Hi, Pat. You and hubby enjoy the weekend on that porch! My Mom and I were on the swing under her Catalpa Tree - even though the blossoms were coming down like rain. It was a beautiful day. Peace to you.

What a wonderful and beautiful blog! This is my first visit here - I will admit that it was your blog name that brought me here (I simply love nests!)

Your photos are so lovely and your creativity is amazing. I have spend some time looking around and this I am so impressed with your stories and pictures.

Thank you for this beautiful place to visit and for sharing your passions and interests with all of us~~~

I should probably put this in an email instead of a comment but, at first glance, the symbol on the blue flag (in the first picture) looked like one of those gray aliens. My first thought was, "What is Pat into now?!?" Please don't tell your proud Navy man!

I envy your lovely, wide porch with room for swings and wicker and bird nests. Enjoy your holiday weekend!
