Pincushions and a Teddy Bear

Kevin's Teddy Bear

I recently mailed some handmade gifts to my dear friends Brian, Kevin and Debra (Brian's Mom).
These gifts were supposed to reach Indiana long before now, but considering that my efficiency levels are not what they once were...they arrived at their new home last week...finally.  It was a happy day when I mailed that box - the sense of accomplishment felt pretty good.

I'm not going to say much about them...they are sort of self explanatory.  They are hand embroidered and beaded, even the bear is hand stitched.  You know that is how I 'roll' as they say.  I did want to say that the Bear is for my friend, Kevin....yes, I always say he is a teddy bear, so he just had to have this little six inch tall character.  The "Back Home Again in Indiana" pincushion is for my friend, Brian.  We've talked.  He likes it.  (Oh, Thank Goodness!!)    The "Home is Where the Heart Is" pincushion is for Brian's Mom, Debra.  We've never met, but I'm thankful to have her son as a friend, so thought she deserved a pincushion of her own.  (Brian is an inspiration...you've seen his work on my blog before....do you remember the memorial piece he made to honor the Old Navy Man?)

So, take a look at these.  I hope you enjoy them.  If you have any questions...you know you can comment or email me.......so, here they are:

So, there you are.  Three handmade pieces for three special people.
Hope you enjoyed seeing them.

Seems a shame to stick a pin in any of them! I really can't say which I like better, though one does not really need to select a favorite. Your embroidery is lovely. I have always admired your skill at creating such sweet embroidered scenes. Each one will certainly be cherished.

Have a really good weekend, friend.
Much love,
Carol

Good Morning Pat,

Oh my goodness what absolutely lovely handmade gifts! Your embroidery skills are just amazing and I have so enjoyed looking at the scenes that you have so lovingly created. And the bear!!!!! What a precious and absolutely adorable little guy! That little face just melts my heart....what a beautiful way to start my day! Thank you for sharing!

I also am playing catch up so just read your post on the button cards! I so love buttons and have a large full of vintage buttons that I could spend hours looking through to find just the right one! I saw a sampler once that had the most sentimental poem about Family Buttons....have always wanted to stitch that one...maybe someday...grins!

I hope you are having a good day doing things that you love!

Pat let me just say they look so amazing in person and I could not love then more.
You shine in miniature, your work has such detail. I have tried to stitch small like that and be refined like you and I cant get the very organized look you do so I'm just going to stick with the messy look that's is my signature and try in the future to be a Pat Eaton win I grow up.
(I am honored to call you FRIEND)
Hay that sounds like it needs to be embroidered got to go stitch.
LOVE to you always dear friend Brian Haggard
