Autumn Beauty

This photo was taken last November.  The tree is just over my back fence.  The colors were gorgeous.  Today, there is no color at all.  Just a drab brownish green, waiting for Autumn Beauty to take over.  It reminds me of life these days....just one sad thing after another....with all of us watching and waiting for something beautiful to come along.

These leaves look happy and festive....at the time, approaching Thanksgiving,  The year's last party before Winter sets in.

 It is beautiful, isn't it?

Just look at those beautiful shades of orange with some red thrown in.
I'm hoping we get to see some of it before all the leaves are gone.

So, that was last year.  Nothing seems quite right this year, but we can always hope....and, we can still try to be happy, as this quote says:

"THINK OF ALL THE BEAUTY STILL AROUND YOU AND BE HAPPY."
Anne Frank

Surely, if Anne could inspire it, we should be able to do it.

I'm not seeing many beautiful leaves around these parts either. And yes, the world could use some beauty these days.

The leaves reflect the mood of the country. Just about all my blog friends are telling the same story about lack of color this year. My Sugar Maple is usually blazing red but this year the leaves are yellow then turned brown and are about to fall. Lack of rain all summer caused this disgraceful lack of Autumn color. But here it is October 24 and we have already set record rainfall for October with still a week to go and rain in the forecast for almost every day until the end of the month.

On the bright side..the crappy weather encourages me to sit and stitch!

No pretty color here. Just rain, rain, and more rain. At least it is a bit cooler than the rainy summer.

Thanks for the gentle reminder, Pat. No matter how strained things get, we can always find something to cheer us up. This year was just very stressful for everyone. We can only hope it gets better.

And we had plenty of rain here this summer. In fact, it wasn't much of a summer at all and our trees aren't nearly as pretty as they were last year.

Maybe it's like Carol said. Nature reflects the mood.

Hugs to you, friend.

That is indeed a beautiful jar. Thank you for sharing. Hmm - I think I need to go exploring too.
