A Giveaway WINNER, Something Pretty and a New Quote

First things first:  A Giveaway WINNER!!!

She is:
LOU ANNE
Lou Anne, I will need your mailing address...could you kindly email it to me and I will get the quilt blocks to you one day this week.

Thank you all for wanting to rescue these sweet animal quilt blocks.

A new Winter Quote:

In case you have trouble reading this photo:

"Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand
and for a talk beside the fire;
it is the time for HOME."
Edith Sitwell

I have a small chalkboard on my front porch on which I often write one of my favorite quotes.  It was overdue for a change....and this one called my name, so I wanted to share it with you.

And, now, some pretty things.  I took these photos from my archives this evening...I may have shown them before...but if so...well, they still look good.  Sometimes it is fun to unload a box or two and come up with an interesting mixture of ingredients.

So, I hope you enjoy looking at these.

I find these to be treasures indeed!
Hope you are enjoying January and since it seems to be flying by,
here's another quote I just decided this instant to post here:

"Art is long and time is fleeting."
 Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

until next time

Congrats to the winner! And of course, I love this post. Haven't seen these goodies before and they are my most favorite colors! pink and green, with a little touch of blue and aqua here and there. Pink and green have been "my" colors since childhood! Every little doily is lovely, and the crocheted roses and needlepoint work... it's all so pretty and I can see why you love it and that they are indeed, treasures! Love the winter poem and am going to type it up and put it by my computer, as winter is truly a time to nestle in and be with a loved one or family and take the time to sit still and just talk and contemplate. I've been way too busy and need to slow down some and sit by the fire (although we don't really have a fire!). Take care... Marilyn
